The brief
Landzie makes amazing products – they know it, we know it, but their product photography needed some improvements to help customers that are new to the brand get a feel for the product before purchasing.
With rapid prototyping, Landzie also showed an interest in doing their own product photography, and needed some help from us to get started.
Their product photos also needed to be prepped for Amazon and other sales platforms, who require an infinite white background and high resolution.
Challenges
Some of Landzie’s products are big, heavy and reflective. This requires a large enough space, proper lighting and the right camera to ensure that:
For a product photographer, these are standard considerations, but helping Landzie grow this skill in-house required documenting the reasons for each step, and gave us a newfound appreciation for the skill that goes into producing great product photos.
Growing the skill in-house
The team at Landzie was keen to build a competency in product photography by managing this service in-house in their corporate office. This saves all the additional costs involved in shipping new products to a studio, and also provides a quicker turnaround time from the day new products arrive in their warehouse to when they can be added to the website.
We photographed Landzie’s core products, documented the process and produced a guide on the studio requirements, product styling and post-processing requirements. We also provided some feedback after the first couple of sessions to help with minor tweaks to ensure they get the best results.
